WHO ARE THE VALKYRIES?

Beyond Norse legends, Wagnerian epics and artistic fantasy is a vision which centuries of civilization have methodically suppressed. She’s the Physically-Advanced Woman, representing an absolute which society, ever male-dominated, cannot accept. Some say that her image, also called Amazon, has been continually resurrected throughout history by man for the sole purpose of being defeated by him. THE VALKYRIES symbolize all women who dare to approach this physical absolute, rejecting the notion that femininity is compromised by muscularity and might. In their best moments, they show with dazzling clarity, a majesty of power and beauty whose celebration is long overdue.

WHAT IS YOUR AFFILIATION WITH  “DIANA THE VALKYRIE?”

None, other than we both celebrate the Physically-Advanced Woman.. DTV’s mainly a “fetish” site, providing female images to an indoctrinated, primarily male audience through a membership site. We’re a free site, oriented toward inspiration and enlightenment, providing female images to both the indoctrinated and unindoctrinated of both genders. We also feature a number of published articles (see BREAKOUT) promoting our cause. We’ve been around since 1990, DTV since 1997. 

HOW ELSE DO YOU SUPPORT MUSCULAR WOMEN?

In addition to using these women in our advertising, we provide them booth space to sell photos at major shows and in some cases provide limited sponsorship support for their appearances and competitions. Additionally, we’ve arranged publicity events such as TV, radio, magazine and newspaper coverage for women like Negrita Jayde, Linda Wood-Hoyte and Renita Harris whom we feel have a significance reaching beyond the narrow confines of the bodybuilding world

I HAVE DAUGHTERS WHO ARE ATHLETES.  DOES YOUR SITE CONTAIN NUDITY?

There is no nudity. There are a few photos of women wearing thongs. Obviously, since we’re making a very important point –the muscular female body is just as beautiful as the “traditional” female body– we’d be doing a terrible disservice by not displaying the muscular development as fully as it deserves. The gluteals, for instance, are among the most powerful muscles in the body (and of most concern to women who exercise). Those who would object to their display are severely “A-R” and probably get equally shrill over the unclad work of Michaelangelo or Botticelli.

We especially hope to reach more young female athletes! Their minds are still unfettered by the regressive notions of their parents’ generation, and they are our greatest hope for carrying forth the cause for the unabashed Physically-Advanced Woman. It is now being recognized within the media that highly-athletic girls are more likely to succeed in other aspects of their lives. WHAT ABOUT YOUR SHIRTS?

They simply state the case. The designs all tastefully depict the Physically-Advanced Woman as proud, powerful, elegant, independent in mind and body. If you believe it, wear it. Tell the world!

BUT WHY WOULD MEN WEAR THESE?

Because not all men who pump iron are into gorillas, bulldogs and other men. Some enjoy images of women.

WHY ONLY WHITE?

Design #1 is always available in black. Everyone’s got a favorite color, and with our ever-increasing array we can’t stock them all. The design is the main feature, and it shows up most clearly on white. You can wear white with anything. But if you want tangerine or fuchsia or lime-green, you easily achieve that with RIT dye from the supermarket.  And if you really want to have fun, get some friends together and hold a TEAM VALKYRIES Tie Dye Party.  

WHAT ABOUT TANKS, BOATNECKS, BATWINGS, ETC?

    We offer top-quality (Russell, Hanes) TEEs and SWEATs in several sizes in an ever-increasing array of designs. With a pair of scissors you can fashion them into any style you want.

And unlike all those candy-colored clown suits, these look as good under a jacket as they do in the gym.

DO YOU HAVE POSTERS, CALENDARS, ETC?

Presently we have a POSTER as well as decals and bumper stickers with THE VALKYRIES logo and slogan. See INFO page for details.

WHO DOES YOUR ARTWORK?

   A number of different artists, and we’re always looking for new talent as we have many new designs waiting to be executed. Prospective artists should study our current offerings and inquire for our guidelines. Be advised – we are extremely particular. For every design we offer are dozens which didn’t make the grade. We will let a year go by with no new offerings if we are not satisfied with works in progress.

WHO ARE YOUR MODELS AND HOW CAN I WRITE TO THEM? 

They’re not just models; they’re friends from the fitness and bodybuilding world, both known and unknown, many of whom can be found on other sites. Nearly all have worked in our exhibits at major shows like the Arnold, the Jan Tana and the Women’s Extravaganza. All of them have photos for sale and would love to hear from you. ARE YOU LOOKING FOR ANY MORE MODELS?

Always, but as with our designs we’re selective. In addition to muscle, we’re looking for special qualities which set a woman apart from the crowd. We particularly enjoy helping talented “unknowns” get publicity.
